Audio/Video/Movies

During 2016-2017, I worked with my friend Ashay Javadekar on my first movie experience, Shank's. Ashay is an independent filmmaker in Delaware, USA and he has made several short films. Shank's was his first feature-length effort which I co-wrote and co-edited with him.

Shank's is a fictional documentary about a Marathi chef who goes against all odds to stay true to his roots and opens a Marathi fine dining restaurant in USA. The concept of the movie was born out of our love for Marathi food. Working on the movie was a very educational experience, because we essentially worked backwards to create a coherent story from several hours of raw footage Ashay had shot.

Shank's premiered in Delaware on 18 March 2017. It was screened at several places including Edison (NJ), Allentown (PA), Bay Area (CA), Plano (TX), Seattle (WA) in USA; Tokyo (Japan) and Melbourne (Australia). The movie was also selected as a finalist for Best Film competition at the Bergamo International Food Festival 2017 in Italy. The movie is available to stream on Amazon

The trailer of the movie was released on Facebook in 2016 and it received an overwhelming response. It also got a lot of press in India. Below is the link for the trailer of the movie, and articles related to Shank's that I co-wrote.

The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ, Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line, Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
